About ARMA

Silicon Valley was initially known as the ARMA Peninsula - San Jose Chapter and was formed in 1968 with June Gartin as its first President. In 1973, the Chapter was folded into the Golden Gate/San Francisco Chapter and  remained a part of the ARMA Golden Gate until 1983 when it separated from that Chapter and became the ARMA Silicon Valley/Santa Clara entity we know today. The Chapter was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation during the 1998-1999 Chapter year.

The primary purpose of the Chapter is to promote and advance the improvement of records and information administration and management and related fields through study, education, and research.

The meetings are generally held in the Santa Clara Valley at various locations and cover a range of topics. Additionally, the meetings offer a great opportunity for networking with other RIM professionals and local vendors. Notices of meetings and events are generally sent via e-mail and the Chapter website.

Occasionally, the Chapter will produce joint meeting sessions with other ARMA  chapters in the area, primarily Mt. Diablo or Golden Gate as well as local AIIM chapters.

The Chapter board and membership welcomes anyone who is interested in  Records and Information Management to attend one of the chapter  meetings. We look forward to seeing you!
