Session Overview:

As RIM professionals we know that E-Mail is now the de facto standard  for business communication across organizations.  Research shows that the extensive use of e-mails in business, and it's projected growth in the future presents major information management challenges and risks for many organizations.  The vast volumes of e-mails held in in-boxes, sent  folders, and deleted item folders can put the organizations at risk, and potential litigation resulting in huge costs.  Hence, the management of e-mails has become a significant challenge for the RIM, IT and Legal professionals.  This session will address the e-mail management  challenges, and the impact they have on various levels of  organizations.  We'll get an opportunity to listen to two expert speakers who have extensive knowledge and experience in this topic.   You're welcome to bring those burning questions about E-Mail Management, and get answers from the experts.

Speaker Bio:

Matthew Nelson
Matthew Nelson is an attorney and legal technology expert with more than a decade of experience helping organizations address electronic discovery, regulatory compliance, and other information governance related challenges.  He is a member of the Sedona Electronic Document Retention and Production Working Group, the Electronic Discovery Reference Model, and the California and Idaho State Bars.  Mr. Nelson has been invited to address a wide array of organizations including American Corporate Counsel, Nevada’s High Technology Crime Task Force, Stanford & Hastings Law Schools, and numerous mid-sized and Fortune 500 Corporations.  Prior to joining Clearwell (now a part of Symantec), Mr. Nelson gained extensive litigation and technology experience as a Legal Technology Consultant and as a litigation attorney for Ropers, Majeski, Kohn, & Bentley. 


Kristen Crupi
Kristen Crupi is a Program Manager with Iron Mountain Consulting. Since studying risk management at the University of Wisconsin, she has accumulated 20 years of experience in RIM and Information Technology. For the past 5 years, Kristen has been helping Fortune 1000 companies to develop, implement, and assess RIM programs and strategies.


Shawn Aquino
Shawn Aquino is a Senior Product Marketing Manager at Symantec Corporation, with primary focus on archiving for Microsoft Exchange Server and IBM Lotus Domino, as well as Enterprise Vault Data Classification Services. Prior to joining Symantec, Shawn worked for CommVault as Senior Product Marketing Manager for Simpana backup and recovery software. And, prior to CommVault, Shawn held software product marketing and product management roles with Hewlett-Packard Company, Fair Isaac Corporation and VERITAS Software Corporation.

Shawn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University.
