IPER Project

The Council of State Archivists is leading this project to develop and deliver Web- and CD-based training for state and local governments  nationwide. The Intergovernmental Preparedness for Essential Records (IPER) project is made possible by a $2.6 million award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Competitive Grants Training Program.

Free Online Seminars for Current and Future Records Managers

The San Jose State University School of Library and Information Science  proudly announces that Dr. Patricia Franks, coordinator of the Master of Archives and Records Administration (MARA) degree program, will be facilitating an ARMA International web  seminar during November.

If you have ever used blogs, wikis, podcasts, and other social media channels, you wont want to miss this insightful presentation available  online from November 14-29, 2011. Dr. Franks will teach you practical tools and strategies for managing social media records. This seminar is free and open to both ARMA International members and non-members. The School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) is also excited for the upcoming MARA guest lecture,How to Create a Credible Retention and Information Governance Package. Fred Diers, vice president and general manager for GRMs  Solutions Group, will be joining us live from New Jersey viaElluminateon November 14 at 1 p.m. Pacific Time. Mr. Diers will provide proven steps to develop a retention schedule that is realistic and  sustainable. Youll learn how to reduce risk from litigation, government investigations, and audits. The unique program is designed for professionals who already work in the field, and who want to earn a graduate degree that™s focused on leadership opportunities in information governanceor corporate archives.

Students in the MARA program participate in a cohort model, studying with a  small group of peers who share their learning journey.
